I am applying for the Research Scientist position in sustainable polymers at Tern Materials Institute. Your translational model, in which material performance and end-of-life pathways are evaluated together, aligns closely with my research direction.

In my current role at Harbor State University, I lead experiments on bio-based barrier coatings and coordinate a collaboration with two packaging manufacturers. We have developed a repeatable testing protocol that connects lab-scale results to the conditions converters face on production lines.

I care about rigorous, reproducible research and about communicating uncertainty honestly. I have mentored graduate researchers, maintained shared instrument procedures, and presented findings to both technical and commercial audiences.

I would welcome a conversation about Tern’s research program and where my background might complement it. Thank you for your time.
